Artisan-made Indonesian teas
Our teas support the people in Indonesia who create Our excellent products with extensive knowledge, expertise, passion, and hard work
Women empowerment.
Our tea is more than a product; it’s a force for empowering women. From young to old, we collaborate to create amazing products and support one another. We specifically support those who face barriers in the job market due to age or single parenthood. Additionally, we fund college education for others in our community, helping them build brighter futures.
Fair wages.
We want the people behind our premium tea to feel proud and appreciated. Fair wages help our growers stay happy and healthy, giving them the foundation to pursue self-actualization.
Anti-racism.
As an immigrant-led business in Germany, we recognize our responsibility to act. We channel our revenue into supporting anti-racist initiatives and organizations fighting for equality.
Exceptional black teas
Our high-quality black teas come from small plantations on various Indonesian islands. Our partner Sila refines them into special teas with an exceptional character.
Traditional Spice Teas
Our spice teas are made by our partner Denayu in Bantul near Yogyakarta. The spice teas are what gives our company its name. ‘Wedang’ means ‘hot drink’ in Javanese and refers mainly to spice teas.
Trusted Partnerships
We are proud of our partner companies in Indonesia, with whom we work closely to develop and produce our tea blends.
Together, we create fine traditional Indonesian teas and achieve a quality based on respect, transparency, and shared experience.
FAQs
Are your teas organic?
1
Our teas are not currently certified organic. The ingredients are grown with no or minimal use of pesticides and herbicides and are sourced from small-scale farmers. We value the role these farms play in protecting biodiversity, and tea plants can also help stabilize slopes and reduce the risk of landslides during the rainy season.
Are your teas fair trade?
2
We’re not currently Fair Trade certified. We work directly with our production partners to agree on prices that support the people involved in making our teas. We know our partners personally, work closely with them, and have visited their farms and production sites. Although our approach isn’t independently certified, we believe in building fair, long-term relationships with the people we work with.
Why do you sell Indonesian teas in Europe?
3
Indonesia has a long tea-making tradition and produces distinctive, high-quality teas. Yet these teas are often overlooked in global markets, making it harder for farmers to preserve traditional craftsmanship and earn fair prices.
Through our local partners, we support artisanal tea-making, raise the visibility of women in Indonesia’s tea industry, share Indonesian tea culture in Europe, and support anti-racist initiatives.
And, simply put, we think the teas are delicious—and we’d love for you to try them.
What payment methods do you accept?
